Senior Accountant
 
What will I be doing?

As a Senior Accountant, you will generate journal entries and enter transactions to the General Ledger. You’ll take ownership of your assigned section of the balance sheet and help with Month-End and Quarter-End reporting. Your mission will be to ensure the quality and accuracy of the work being done. The successful candidate will work well in a team environment and be willing to step out of the box to meet any challenge put forth in day-to-day activities. You will embrace change and not shy away from failure.

In this position, you will also..
• Prepare monthly reconciliations ensuring accuracy in balance sheet accounts.
• Prepare monthly journal entries.
• Analyze complex accounting areas to ensure proper treatment in accordance with GAAP.
• Juggle multiple priorities in a dynamic and fast paced environment.
• Assist in the development and/or enhancement of policies and procedures
• Ensure the successful completion of quarterly reviews and annual audits.
• Support M&A integrations ensuring seamless integration of acquired businesses.
• Assist in maintaining a well-balanced control environment and testing of controls.
• Participate in special projects

Qualified Candidates must have…

• Bachelor’s degree with either a major in accounting or finance plus a minimum of two (2) to five (5) years of related experience.
• Strong computer proficiency (Excel specifically).
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and internal controls.
• Ability to work independently and productively in a dynamic environment, as well as being a solutions-oriented team player.
• High level of initiative with good independent judgment and strong detail orientation.
• Ability to balance multiple tasks or projects simultaneously with minimal direction and prioritize in a deadline driven environment.
 
Superstar Candidates will ALSO have…

• Experience with Oracle and Hyperion.
• Experience in public accounting and/or with a publicly traded organization.
• Experience with an SEC environment and exposure to SOX compliance.
• Certified Public Accountant, or progressing toward certification.
• Continuing education coursework to stay current on accounting principles.

Other Important Information
  • This position is based in the Ann Arbor corporate office and is typically not conducive to remote work arrangements.
  • Minimal travel may be required.
  • This position requires weekday (Monday - Friday) attendance with some scheduling flexibility available around core working hours.
