Business Intelligence Analyst Senior

What will I be doing?

As Senior Business Intelligence Analyst for the Books business, you will support the business intelligence and analytics needs of our customers, partners and internal stakeholders. This will involve working with large sets of data to provide insights and reports. Additionally, you will provide operational support for our partners, including distributors, content providers and owners of third-party products to grow sales worldwide.

In this position, you will also...

• Produce timely, accurate and informative reports for sales and market development. This includes sales and associated usage reports, monthly sales reports of revenue and customer numbers by product and region, along with an analysis of trends in the business and market.
• Act as primary business liaison among Engineering, Product and business partners on internal reporting systems and initiatives.
• Advise, lead and provide insightful and candid feedback in the planning, implementation and automation of internal reporting projects for the Books business unit.
• Gather and evaluate data from multiple sources, normalize the data, build financial models and create operational reports in support of strategic initiatives.
• Drive channel sales by managing partner relationships, generating financial reports, helping to resolve operational issues, facilitating account setup (including trial accounts) and working collaboratively with the partners to identify opportunities and support programs that increase market share.
• Improve customer satisfaction and increase partner fees by providing operational and technical support to partners.

Three reasons you should apply...

1. You're comfortable working in a dynamic environment where ad-hoc requests can emerge, and each day can bring unexpected challenges.
2. You desire to partner with high-level stakeholders and have access to important organizational influencers.
3. You enjoy solving puzzles, taking ownership of your work and making meaningful contributions.

This job may not be a fit if...

1. Attention to detail is exhausting for you. Your first inclination is to hit “Send” rather than re-check your work for errors.
2. You prefer heads-down work and shy away from team communication.
3. You have trouble prioritizing among competing demands and making decisions that impact others.

Qualified Candidates must have…

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in functional field, such as Business or Finance, plus at least 5 years’ related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Proven management of multiple competing projects or tasks without day-to-day direction and ability to adapt to changing priorities.
• Excellent analytical, research and problem-solving skills with a high attention to detail.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills, with ability to professionally interact with a diverse blend of personalities to reach resolution and maintain strong relationships.
• Independent self-starter who is confident in taking the initiative and comfortable interacting with management.
• Capacity to learn and master new technology and tools.
• Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Office products with a high proficiency in Excel.
• Ability to synthesize large amounts of data from disparate sources and summarize effectively.

Superstar Candidates will ALSO have…

• Familiarity with databases (such as SQL and Access).
• Familiarity with data visualization tools (such as Tableau and Microsoft Power BI).
• Strong presentation skills.

Other important information about this position:

• The preferred location for this position is in the Ann Arbor, MI office or La Vergne, TN location.
