What will I be doing?

As a Sales Specialist you will drive sales activity for assigned product lines such as Ebook Central, print books, and monographic workflows as well as Ebook subscription products within an assigned territory in Eastern Canada, including French speaking provinces. In collaboration with Account Managers, you will have the exciting role of workflow and content specialist, articulating the value proposition whether as a single product sale or as part of a large portfolio.

 

In this position, you will also…

• Focus on new business, uncover opportunities, create target lists, prospect and participate in territory planning while engaging Account Managers as appropriate.

• Qualify top opportunities based upon key initiatives and product roadmap driven from sales leadership; coordinate new sales and account growth opportunities with Account Managers.

• Leverage unique relationships with influencers and decision makers for lead generation and sales.

• Use Salesforce to track lead specialty product forecasting and coordinate weekly forecast activity.

• Coordinate with Account Managers to engage clients in new opportunities and schedule meetings.

• Provide product demonstrations and pre-sales technical consulting.

Qualified Candidates must have…

• Bachelor’s degree plus at least 5 years of related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Ability to develop a deep understanding of specialty product(s).

• Capable of leading demonstrations, trainings and presentations.

• Able to clearly and compellingly articulate value proposition for specialty product(s) and respond to inquiries about product functionality.

• High level of enthusiasm, with strong influencing and negotiation skills.

• Ability to analyze, compare, evaluate, reconcile and draw meaningful conclusions and action plans from data.

• Strong interpersonal skills, with ability to professionally interact with a diverse blend of personalities to reach resolution and maintain strong relationships.

• Capacity to learn and effectively utilize Salesforce and other programs relevant to the role.  

• Ability to travel nationally and to U.S.

• Fluency in French.

 

 

It would be awesome if you also had…

• Advanced degree in Library Science or related field

• A proven track record of successful technology and/or online content sales.

• Strong ability to collect and manipulate data to identify new opportunities and increase sales.

• Experience with internal sales and forecasting tools to track leads and close ratio.

• Previous experience working in a matrix sales environment.

• Previous experience selling in the academic library community.

 

Other important information about this position:

• This is a remote sales position within the assigned territory of Eastern Canada, including French speaking provinces. 

• Frequent travel is required. 

• This position requires weekday attendance with scheduling flexibility around core working hours.
