Associate Product Manager


What will I be doing?

As an Associate Product Manager, you will assist in determining which content is added to the portfolio of products for research and teaching in Theater and Drama. The products are based on archival text, video and image collections. 


Ambiguity? Check! Problem solving? Check! Unadulterated fun and great comradery? Double check!! In this position, there’s no such thing as an average day. One moment, you’re buried deep in the technical data feverishly pouring over a complex spreadsheet, the next you’re liaising with both internal and external contacts to initiate negotiations for new content for the platform. You’re going to be the hub for sales, marketing, and product development for your unique portfolio. An appreciation for performance arts is required and will help you to understand the voice of the end-user of this product. In this position, you will also..

• Manage a product portfolio including market analysis and comparison for products, pricing and channels

• Curate bibliographies and select unique content from archives worldwide and across the PQ content set.

• Identify key content and partners for products and initiate licensing conversations as needed

• Prepare new product go-to-market plans and ensures new product messages are well received by customers

• Identify and justify which market niche(s) have the greatest growth potential for new products.

• Perform monthly revenue/margin analysis and forecast, organize monthly revenue/margin reports and presentations

• Perform routine product training for customers

• Communicate with customers; collects and analyzes customer feedback and provides solutions

Qualified Candidates must have…
  • Bachelor’s degree related field, plus some prior experience in the information industry, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Knowledge in product domain.
  • Proven ability to gather and collate data and conduct analysis, looking for patterns, with the ability to recommend and support decisions based on this data.
  • Solid understanding of the typical research needs of undergraduate students.
  • Experience with online research tools and electronic library resources.
  • Ability to use effective communication and active listening skills to identify and articulate requirements.
  • Strong verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
