What will I be doing?

As a Business Intelligence Systems Developer, you will be responsible for delivering and supporting application lifestyle projects utilizing commercial, open source and custom-developed software. In this position there will be a focus on ProQuest business applications. You will work to analyze and prioritize future work, evaluate new builds, explore new technologies and scope out projects. 

 

In this position, you will also…

• Work closely with teams to gather, analyze, and document business cases, functional and technical requirements, and process flow diagrams for new projects, enhancements to existing solutions and production issues reported by end users.

• Participate in end to end implementation planning including project management, issue management, communication and change management.  

• Interpret business needs and technical requirements into an integrated solution, providing direction for system enhancements and defect fixes.

• Manage UAT with end users including coordination and user acceptance signoff.

• Manage relationships with multiple teams for new solution features and technical support.

• Accountable for the timely delivery of projects as per established roadmaps by working closely with the business teams.

• Create, deliver, and present end-user training materials to users throughout the organization.

• Occasionally assist with management/change control of systems.

 

Qualified Candidates must have…

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in related field, plus 3 years of experience with manipulating data and preparing as-is process documentation, to-be process documentation, and detailed gap analysis, or equivalent combination of education and experience. 

• Strong and effective written, verbal, and presentation skills with the ability to collaborate with team members and business stakeholders at all levels of the organization.

• Experience with technologies/applications specific to functional area.

• Prior experience analyzing and documenting complex business processes and writing requirements specifications for Information Systems.

• Experience working on projects with offshore teams.

• Experience in project conceptualization and planning.

• Ability to successfully complete complex technical projects.

• Ability to work in a fast paced and dynamic development environment.

• Commitment to a disciplined methodological approach, while also possessing the ability to work in very dynamic environments.

• Ability to work on complex issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation and may require collaboration across multiple technical teams.

 

It would be awesome if you also had…

• Knowledge in business intelligence tools like Tableau and Power BI

 

Other important information about this position:

• This position will be based in the Ann Arbor, MI – ProQuest office location; occasional remote work may be acceptable, subject to approval. 

• Occasional travel may be required.

• This position requires weekday (Monday – Friday) attendance with scheduling flexibility available around standard business hours to accommodate clients in alternate geographies and time zones.
