What will I be doing?

As a Global Knowledge Delivery Team Lead for Ex Libris Group, you will manage and mentor a team of North American training developers in producing and delivering high quality education materials for a global customer base. 

In this position, you will also…

• Manage the regional team’s performance assisting with internal training needs, prioritizing of responsibilities and tasks and development coaching.

• Lead the planning, scoping and prioritization of eLearning curriculum development across all Ex Libris products.

• Provide strategic thought leadership within the team, exploring new tools and approaches for driving continuous improvement in instructional and curriculum design and the introduction of best practice approaches for managing team needs and challenges.

• Develop and maintain an online instructional curriculum by working closely with subject matter experts and key stakeholders to define core learning objectives for specific target audiences.

• Lead the planning and execution of training workshops at customer conferences, including developing content focus areas and agenda, delivering live training sessions, collaborating with internal stakeholders to identify potential trainers and managing multiple communication channels throughout the process.

• Develop and maintain an in-depth working knowledge of Ex Libris’ brand products.

• Deliver live product training at customer site locations or leveraging online web conferencing software.

• Manage the lifecycle of team customer training engagements – from initial needs analysis, scoping discussions and post-training follow-up.

• Assist in the administration of the organization’s Learning Management System, ensuring content and exams are current and continuously updated.


Qualified Candidates must have…

• Bachelor’s degree or advanced education in the area of eLearning, Training, or Management from an accredited school, or at least 3 years of experience developing online technical training in a similar information services organization with library customers.

• Minimum 3 years management or leadership experience, preferably working with remote employees.

• Extensive experience delivering education (teaching or training) to others, ideally in a technical context.

• Demonstrated instructional design experience building ILT and eLearning content.

• Knowledge and understanding of library systems and functions, including new technologies and their applications to enhancing information services in the library market.

• Demonstrated team project management experience, with the ability to plan, forecast, prioritize and organize competing tasks, timelines and responsibilities. 

• Highly proficient in engaging and attracting varying audiences, with the ability to adapt to changing customer and employee demands. 

• Strong analytical skills, ability to work independently and demonstrate initiative and creativity in crafting solutions.

• Exceptionally strong interpersonal, communication – spoken, written, listening and presentation skills.

• Exceptional patience and tact (i.e., strong service orientation).

• Excellent understanding of the English language, oral and written.

• Strongly committed to continuous improvement; exploring and sharing best practice approaches for enhancing personal and team skills and abilities. 


It would be awesome if you also had…

• MLS or MLIS from an American Library Association accredited program.

• Proven experience with implementation and administration of a Learning Management System.


Other important information about this position:

• This position is based out of a US Ex Libris field office in Des Plaines, IL or Seattle, WA. Opportunity may be conducive to remote work based on manager approval.

• Occasional travel is required.

• This position requires weekday (Monday – Friday) attendance with some scheduling flexibility available around core working hours.
