An opportunity for a Head of Digital Marketing expert in building online communities and audience acquisitions strategies to join an industry leader and media content business. With a new leadership team, the business is entering an exciting new growth phase, with the opportunity to take a step back from the day to day business and to develop a corporate digital marketing strategy, fully own and implement. 

The role Head of Digital Marketing will work hand in hand with the corporate General Manager for the global business with responsibility for the digital growth strategy, audience development, digital products and website redesign and performance. Managing a team of 1 initially plus external agencies, you'll need to build your team as you drive scale.


Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Developing and implementing a B2B marketing strategy to drive audience growth and brand awareness across all digital and media channels, including SEO, PPC, Display, Paid Social, Viral and Content Marketing.

  • Shaping the digital product roadmap, refining existing product branding to have a clear brand architecture, which supports portfolio of new products.

  • Developing and targeting different customer segments and personas, working closely with the product and sales teams.

  • Creating a content lead strategy which will draw a B2B audience through relevant touchpoints, leveraging the internal expertise status as a media commentator and contributor.

  • Growing online communities, which will drive content sharing, audience engagement, recommendations, and reviews.

  • Building brand awareness within both the consumer and B2B segments, through PR, media, industry relations and events.

  • Measuring and optimising activity, working closely with the research and insight team to develop business intelligence reports and dashboards resulting in B2B revenue*Take ownership of the transactional platform with direct revenue and building appropriate business models/pricing models to align with segment needs and drive long term growth.
    Manage external agencies and third parties across design, UX, video production and technology

A strong candidate for the role of the Head of Digital Marketing will bring the following experience.

  • Have worked within a senior marketing role within a digital business sector, such as media, news, content, eCommerce, retail, travel, hotels, airlines, utilities, financial services etc.

  • You will have hands on knowledge of how to build, engage and retain online communities.

  • Experienced at creating a product brand strategy.

  • First-hand experience in rebuilding a web site and creating demonstrable online presence.

  • Demonstrable expertise in developing a content strategy which has driven impressive audience growth.

  • Ideally experience of digital product management, website optimisation and customer experience.

  • Experience across all digital acquisition channels.

  • Developing and scaling a high-performance marketing function through the growth of an internal team and agency management to being hands on, leading by example.

  • Establishing ambitious growth metrics and working with data and insights to continually optimise activity.

  • Natural self-starter and highly motivated, with the ability to work on own initiative and manage own workload


  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field.

  • 5-7 years directly related, progressively responsible work experience.

  • 2-4 years’ experience with hands-on digital marketing with a for-profit business, non-profit organization or with a consultant working closely with nonprofits.

  • 2-4 years management experience.

  • Experience and success developing and implementing integrated digital marketing and fundraising campaigns with measurable results.

  • Experience in online advertising and online acquisition campaigns required.

  • Experience with HTML, Photoshop, and Microsoft Office Applications required.

    Other important information about this position:

  • This position may be based in a corporate office or remote location.  
  • Frequent national and international travel is required.
  • This position requires weekday (Monday - Friday) attendance with scheduling flexibility available around core working hours. Some weekend attendance is required, typically for travel and industry/trade events.
