Market Analytics Manager
 
What will I be doing?

As Manager for the Market Analytics team, you will provide leadership, strategic alignment and guidance to the individual contributors on your team. The team is focused on conducting competitor research via university websites and course catalogs to capture course descriptions, syllabi and faculty biographical information. This research will support the sales team and play a key role in hitting the annual sales targets for ProQuest. 
 
In this position, you will also..

Sales Goals:
• Ensure overall PQIS portfolio sales performance in regions are met and exceeded.
• Help drive new sales and renewals of the PQIS portfolio across regions and segments by creating analytics and developing customer ready support materials in conjunction with marketing.
• Support major renewals by working with the PQIS Market Development (MD) team and sales team 
 
Go-To-Market
• Develop strategy and processes for prioritizing customer and sales requests and capturing data throughout the sales lifecycle.
• Perform gap analyses by country, region, and segment to uncover up-sell or cross-sell opportunities.
• Perform gap/curriculum/holding analysis to support significant sales opportunities.
• Develop templates for marketing or sales ready reports; modifies templates based on feedback from customers and sales, and measurement of effectiveness.
• Analyze sale team workflows to ensure that data and analysis is available at point of need in a simplified workflow.
 •Review initial processes and develop investment cases for areas that can be automated to increase speed and scale of analysis for sales teams.

Working with sales teams
• Support MDM and sales team in high value account planning.
• Maintain a list of projects and adjusting prioritization of workflow as directed.
 
Reporting / Metrics:
• Create metrics for initiatives to measure success or failure, including baseline and test markets KPIs.
• Weekly/monthly reporting of analyses created, in que, and status / measurement of impact.

Qualified Candidates must have…
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in related field, plus 6 years or longer relevant work experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience working in an international matrix organization.
• Demonstrated analytical ability.
• Experience in understanding user workflows and creating sustainable processes.  
• Experience with measuring differences and effectiveness of programs.
• Effective use of data to drive more complex decisions, ability to establish relevant metrics.

Superstar Candidates will ALSO have…
• MBA and/or marketing degree.
• Work experience in a scholarly environment and information industry.
• Experience working with academic libraries and consortia.
• Strong understanding of the academic information market.
• Experience with project management or Lean concepts is preferred.
• People management experience.
• Fluency in languages other than English.
