What will I be doing?

As an eBS Software Developer you will be responsible for the design, implementation, and testing phases of the software development life cycle. In this position there will be a focus on ProQuest business applications where you will create  new features and enhancements. You will work within the Oracle eBusiness Suite to analyze and prioritize future work, evaluate new builds, explore new technologies and scope out projects.  

In this position, you will also…

  • Implement software for specifications of high complexity for limited scale systems, or medium to high complexity for large-scale systems.
  • Manually test and unit test all assigned applications.
  • Participate in various engineering projects and may lead small projects.
  • Implement design changes to improve quality, performance, cost reduction, and standardization through analysis of designs and problem-solving techniques.
  • Respond to inquiries regarding function and design and attend customer meetings.
  • Suggest alternative methodologies or techniques to achieve desired results.
  • Maintain understanding of products, manufacturing processes, and product applications.
  • Write application technical documentation.
  • Review and revise new procedures as needed for the continuing development of high quality systems.
  • Support assigned ProQuest systems.
  • Provide technical training to other team members.
  • Maintain knowledge of technical advances and evaluate new hardware/software for company use.

Qualified Candidates must have…

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in related field, such as Computer Engineering or Computer Science, plus at least 6 years of software development experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to learn and master standard programming languages.
  • Ability to understand and programmatically manipulate XML.
  • Ability to write functional/detailed design specifications based on user or system requirements.
  • Ability to work with standard office tools.
  • Ability to work with source control systems.
  • Ability to work with design tools (e.g. Visio).
  • Ability to work in an agile environment. 

It would be awesome if you also had...

  • 5 years' experience working with Oracle E-Business Suite; specifically, with financials, order management, service contracts, inventory, and advanced pricing modules.
  • 3 or more years’ experience performance tuning in E-Business Suite.
  • Experience developing custom components using OAF and ADF workflow.
  • Experience integrating data from Oracle eBS to Salesforce
  • Experience working with AIM and formulating strategies for implementation.
  • Knowledge of Oracle Applications interfaces, tables, and APIs.
  • Expertise in RICE (developed new Reports, Interface, Customization, Extensions, and form personalization).
  • Strong understanding of quote to cash process.
  • Clear understanding of database concepts.

Other important information about this position:

  • This position will be based in the Ann Arbor, MI – ProQuest office location; occasional remote work may be acceptable, subject to approval.
  • Occasional travel may be required.
  • This position requires weekday (Monday – Friday) attendance with scheduling flexibility available around standard business hours to accommodate clients in alternate geographies and time zones.
