What will I be doing?

As a Product Manager, Lead, you will have the unique ability to drive ProQuest’s product development through the entire product lifecycle in a variety of projects. You will have multiple areas of responsibility, which will allow you to have a large impact to contribute and bring quality products to market. 

 

In this position, you will also…

• Document clear and measurable product requirements and makes trade-off recommendations between implementation and functionality.

• Manage the development and launch of new features and functionality through the entire product development lifecycle.

• Lead focus groups, customer surveys, and user testing to inform product priorities. 

• Drive definition of key product analytics and monitors product performance to inform development priorities. 

• Provide direction as to relevant customer segments to target for research.

• Lead product and roadmap definition for implementation of a specific product or product area and delivers the product to market, assuring development efforts are aligned with business goals without guidance or support.

• Create and justify product strategy, provide new opportunities for major feature/function enhancements. 

• Develop strategy to drive growth programmatically in opportune or needed areas. 

• Deliver positioning of new feature/function; provides feedback into competitor feature/function.  

• Author market requirements/agile epics, brings them forward to grow product(s), and drives innovation across the portfolio.

 

Qualified Candidates must have…

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in related field, plus 6 to 7 years relevant work experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience. 

• With direction, be proficient in setting direction for team/project, managing performance applying management skills to lead a small team of up to 1 to 2 employees.

• Ability to apply data analytics to complex problems and business planning without direction.

• Ability to use ROI to drive complex decisions with little direction.

• A deep understanding of business drivers and key issues, see actions holistically and can execute on them with minimal direction.

• Ability to collaborate across teams to manage development of complex products. 

• Strong communication and active listening skills to identify and articulate product requirements, with ability to leverage subject matter expertise across teams to deliver timely results.  

 

It would be awesome if you also had…

• Previous experience working with Library, eBooks, or Publishing industries.

• Proven experience managing a web based content rich application.

• Experience with Agile/scrum product development methods, including creating user stories, managing backlogs and project tracking skills.

 

Other important information about this position:

• This position is based in ProQuest’s Ann Arbor, MI office location.

• Occasional travel is required.

• This position requires weekday attendance with some flexibility around core working hours.
