Product Manager
What will I be doing?
In this role as a Product Manager at ProQuest, you’ll drive projects from conception to completion to support the ongoing development and maintenance of our products. 

The portfolios assigned to this Product Manager in the humanities and social sciences include global issues--human rights and environmental studies, and religion. In addition to driving key initiatives for your products, you will work directly with archives worldwide and work collaboratively with the Global Alliance team to procure multimedia content to be used in the platform. 
Duties and Responsibilities Summary
• Product Requirements - With minimum guidance and support, documents clear and measurable product requirements and makes trade-off recommendations between implementation and functionality.
Content Requirements: Identifies opportunities in content acquisition; Curates bibliographies and selects/licenses unique content from archives worldwide and across the PQ content set. 
• Product Delivery – With minimum guidance and support, manages the development and launch of new features and functionality through the entire product development lifecycle process from concept through implementation and release. (For full product, or significant product features)
• Customer Research - Participates in leading focus groups, customer surveys, and user testing to inform product priorities. Monitors key product analytics to inform development priorities.
• Product Roadmap – Under minimum direction, understands market priorities and works with Engineering to identify trade-offs. Drives activities/user stories to deliver product to market, according to product roadmap. Prioritizes and sequences product features and stories to meet market demands. 
• Product Strategy - Internalizes product strategy such that it informs market requirements and feature prioritization.
• Business Plan/Product Profitability - Supports construction and justification of business plan/case; contributes to plan approval. Owns topline for product lines. Contributes to content plan / budget.
• Programmatic Growth - Monitors and makes recommendations for improvement of product performance including pricing, bundling, and marketing strategy. Provides feedback as necessary into feature/function developed.
• Product Launch – With minimum direction and support, develops full launch package including pricing and product bundling options; targeted segments; competitive analysis; and provides feedback as necessary into feature/function built.
• Market Requirements - Authors market requirements/agile epics.

Qualified Candidates must have…
• Bachelors’ degree or higher in related field, plus 1-2 years relevant work experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience managing basic customer questions and concerns for their product(s). 
• Excellent communication and active listening skills.
• Previous experience managing projects or people.
• Experience using data to drive simple decisions and establishing relevant metrics.
• Basic understanding of financial modeling and ROI.
• Has effective presence to inspire confidence of colleagues.
Superstar Candidates will ALSO have…

• Professional experience in a library setting.
• Fluency in languages other than English.

• This position is based in our Alexandria, VA, New York, NY or Bethesda, MD ProQuest office locations and is not appropriate for full time remote work
• Up to 40% travel is required.
• This position requires weekday (Monday - Friday) attendance with some scheduling flexibility available around core working hours.
