What will I be doing?

As a Product Marketing Manager, you will develop global go-to-market strategies, as well as compelling product messaging and tools that communicate value and support sales worldwide. In this exciting role you will have the opportunity to be the liaison with sales and product management to enhance product offerings on ProQuest’s free web-based system to help libraries and users around the world.  


In this position, you will also…

• Conceive and develop innovative marketing programs that drive demand and address the needs of customers and prospects globally.

• Serve as the marketing expert on a business unit’s suite of products as it relates to buying behavior, selection criteria and competitive landscape.

• Work in close collaboration with other functions that work directly with customers including customer support, sales and product management.

• Facilitate effective communication of these to internal stakeholders including, Segment Planning, Enterprise Communications, Field Marketing, Pricing, Product Management, Sales and Customer Experience.

• Develop product positioning and messaging that effectively communicates competitive advantage to various target audiences - including internal stakeholders, end users and customers.

• Collaborate with Enterprise Communications on respective products’ alignment to and support of overall ProQuest messaging.

• Create and maintain tools and resources that communicate the value proposition of the products and enable members of the sales and customer experience organizations to effectively sell and support products.

• Plan and execute the go-to-market strategy and launch of new products, product bundles or releases.  

• Work closely with the Campaign Managers, Enterprise Operations and Field Marketing team, who will execute these plans regionally to ensure alignment and production of key product and segment priorities.


Qualified Candidates must have…

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in marketing, communications, business or other related field, plus at least 5 years of related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience

• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in B2B Product Marketing.

• Proven track record developing effective product go-to-market strategies for multiple products in a product portfolio, messaging and positioning, creating marketing plans and sales enablement tools.

• Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills.

• Ability to communicate and collaborate across teams in a global, matrix structure, and experience leading cross-functional teams for successful implementation of integrated marketing plans for high impact results.

• Ability to manage numerous projects and meet aggressive deadlines in a dynamic, multi-location environment, while maintaining a team-oriented approach to business.

• Strong project management skills with a high attention to detail.

• High proficiency in MS Office Suite, especially Word and PowerPoint and ability to learn new technologies.


It would be awesome if you also had…

• Master’s degree in Library Science or Business

• Previous experience working within the publishing industry.

• Experience with a marketing automation system and CRM such as Salesforce

• Proficient in writing, i.e. creative copy, press releases, executive briefs

• Knowledge of library information technology and/or publishing

• Experience in marketing products globally


Other important information about this position:

• This position is based in ProQuest’s Ann Arbor, MI office location.

• Occasional travel is required.

• This position requires weekday attendance and may have some flexibility around core working hours.
