What will I be doing?

As a Project Manager you will be a key contributor in several functional areas to drive quality products from concept to market. You will serve as the liaison between the technology team, as well as internal and external user groups. In this exciting role you will have the opportunity to enhance product offerings to help library users around the world do extraordinary things.  


In this position, you will also…

• Document clear and measurable product requirements and make trade-off recommendations between implementation and functionality.

• Manage the development and launch of new features and functionality through the entire product development lifecycle process from concept through implementation and release. 

• Participate in leading focus groups, customer surveys, and user testing to inform product priorities and monitor key product analytics to inform development priorities.

• Support construction and justification of business plan/case; contribute to plan approval. Own topline for product lines. Contribute to content plan/budget.

• Author market requirements/agile epics.

• Write user documentation.

Qualified Candidates must have…

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in related field, plus 1-2 years relevant work experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Experience managing basic customer questions and concerns for their product(s). 

• Excellent communication and active listening skills.

• Previous experience managing projects.

• Experience using data to drive simple decisions and establishing relevant metrics.

• Basic understanding of financial modeling and ROI.

• Strong operational and technical instincts.

• Working understanding of business drivers and key issues.

• Ability to collaborate across teams to manage product development. 

• Effective presence to inspire confidence of colleagues.

• Ability to gain domain knowledge in position.


It would be awesome if you also had…

• Professional experience in an academic library setting.

• Familiarity with library space and use of products such as OASIS or CIS.

• Prior experience managing products through the entire development lifecycle.

• Knowledge of the software development lifecycle (SDLC).

• Previous experience using Confluence and JIRA software.

• Experience writing end user documentation.

• This position is located in ProQuest’s La Vergne, TN office location.

• Occasional travel is required.

• This position requires weekday attendance and may have some flexibility around core working hours.
