Sales Specialist, Literature Monitoring

What will I be doing?

As a Sales Specialist for Literature Monitoring at ProQuest, you’ll provide a highly technical solution to a highly technical problem for the pharmacological industry. With over 1,000 alerts every week regarding their product and the requirement to monitor each, ProQuest’s Pi2 business is focused on providing a digital solution to keep patients safe and companies compliant.

You’ll be responsible for driving demand from current customers but focused on developing new business and adding labels to the growing list of clients in the US. You’ll collaborate with Account Managers to engage opportunities and deliver professional, compelling presentations to prospects and clients.

In this position, you will also..

  • Negotiate and close contracts for new sales achievement
  • Create and execute an account strategy plan
  • Develop a strong understanding of competitor
  • Establish, understand and maintain various levels of customer contacts together with an ability to assist in the expansion of awareness and usage by end users.
  • Provide continuous feedback to product and marketing teams to help meet strategic sales objectives and enhance Literature Monitoring solutions.
  • Represent Literature Monitoring Portfolio at trade shows and generates leads, new sales, and progresses opportunities through the sales stages.
  • Perform high quality demonstrations of Literature Monitoring products capable of persuading experts in pharmacovigilance and research to buy Pi2 and other ProQuest products such as ProQuest Dialog. 
  • Lead Pi2 forecasting in collaboration with the Pi2 business and closely coordinates weekly forecast activity with input from Account Manager.
  • Lead training and preparation of training documentation for specialty products

Qualified Candidates must have…

  • Bachelors’ degree plus at least 5 years’ related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Proven success in “consultative selling” into the pharmaceutical market
  • Experience with pharmaceutical research and deep understanding of the drug safety and pharmacovigilance function.
  • Capable of leading demonstrations, trainings and presentations.
  • Ability to analyze, compare, evaluate, reconcile and draw meaningful conclusions and action plans from data. 
  • Frequent travel required (40%).

Superstar Candidates will ALSO have…

  • Proven track record of successful technology and/or online content sales experience.
  • Advanced degree in Library Science, Chemistry or field related pharmaceutical sales and research.
  • Certifications pertinent to the sales profession.
  • Knowledge of Literature Monitoring, Drug Safety Triagers, PinPoint, Dialog and Literature Services
