Software Engineer
 
What will I be doing?

As part of a small engineering team focused on backend API development, you will leverage your knowledge of Java, J2EE, Linux, Solar and MongoDB to drive the implementation phase of the software development life cycle. Working in an enterprise-level, production environment, you will spend about 5-10% of your time in production support and the remainder of your time collaborating with colleagues and developing new functionality for the product. 

This is an opportunity to immerse yourself in an organization that has embraced Agile Development , attending Sprint Meetings and other Agile Ceremonies will be an integral part of your day. This team is also reving up for a 2019 initiaitive to further implement AWS in the products they support. 
 
In this position, you will also..
• Implement software for specifications of medium complexity for limited scale systems.
• Participate as a team member on various engineering projects.
• Suggest alternative methodologies or techniques to achieving desired results.
• Develop and maintain understanding of products and product applications.
• Manually test and unit test all assigned applications.
• Write application technical documentation.
• Review and revise new procedures as needed for the continuing development of high quality systems.
• Maintain knowledge of technical advances and evaluates new hardware / software for company use.
• Follow departmental policies, procedures, and work instructions.
• Work closely with higher-level engineers to increase functional knowledge.

Qualified Candidates must have…
• Bachelors’ degree or higher in related field, such as Computer Engineering or Computer Science, plus at least 4 years of software development experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to learn and master standard programming languages.
• Ability to write detailed design specifications based on user requirements.
• Ability to work with standard office tools.
• Ability to work with source control systems.
• Ability to work with design tools (e.g. Visio).
• Ability to work in an agile environment.
 
Superstar Candidates will ALSO have…
• Ability to understand and programmatically manipulate XML.
