Job Description

The Software Engineer is responsible for the design and delivery of our software solutions.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develops software solutions to meet customer and internal requirements

  • Participates as a team member on various engineering projects.

  • Implements design changes to improve quality, performance, cost reduction, and standardization through analysis of designs and problem solving techniques.

  • Suggests alternative methodologies or techniques to achieving desired results.

  • Maintains understanding of products, manufacturing processes, and product applications. Local expert in assigned projects.

  • Writes and maintains application technical documentation as required

  • Maintains knowledge of technical advances and evaluates new hardware / software for company use.

Qualifications:

  • 2 or more years of software development experience with a complied language (C#,C++,Java,etc)

  • At least 1 years of experience with a web development framework (preferably ASP.NET)

  • Experience with client-side technologies (HTML,CSS,Javascript)

  • Experience with a relational database engine (preferably MSSQL)

  • Experience writing automated unit tests (Microsoft Unit Test Framework, JUnit, or similar)

  • Ability to work with source control systems, (preferably Git or similar).

  • Experience working iteratively on a close team, preferably with Agile methodologies.

  • Evidence of working with Object-Oriented development and design patterns.

Ancillary Qualifications:

Qualifications listed below, while not necessarily a requirement for this position in each circumstance, provide additional depth and value to the role.

  • VB.NET experience.

  • Experience of working with cloud technologies (preferably AWS)

  • Knowledge of Windows Server architecture

  • Angular application development experience.

  • Experience working with legacy systems.

  • Test Driven Development experience

  • UX/UI Design experience.

  • Experience working in a GxP or similar regulated environment (banking, securities, defense, etc.)

Other important information about this position:

  • This position is typically located in a ProQuest office location; occasional remote work may be acceptable, subject to approval.
  • Occasional travel may be required.
  • This position requires weekday (Monday - Friday) attendance with scheduling flexibility available around standard business hours to accommodate clients in alternate geographies and time zones.
