Job Description

Leverage technical and systems knowledge to consult with campus Enterprise Resources Planning (ERP) solutions staff and business stakeholders to define integration needs, provide development and reporting solutions, collect customer requirements, produce statements of work, and define resource requirements.

The Technical Business Analyst position intertwines with the product development lifecycle of new features offering at Ex Libris related to academic research. Attaining an understanding of the business needs of our customers and translating these requirements into top-level designs and documented technical specifications for product developers to implement is the core responsibility.

The position involves close coordination between product management and development teams, and will report to the product management team.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead in the analysis, integration designing, debugging and documentation of mobile campus solutions integration with campus applications in accordance with standard development practices
  • Develop and maintain a deep and broad understanding of system capabilities and alternative approaches to business solutions

  • Collaborate and participate in the development of the integration modules to campus ERP solutions

  • Provide critical thinking and problem solving skills to assist in resolving complex technical problems

  • Ensure quality solution deployment through execution of solution test plans and scripts
  • Provide guidance to business teams in developing tests, training plans and materials
  • Work collaboratively with users throughout development, design, modification, testing and implementation of project applications
  • Work with clients in a proactive manner, offering solutions to problems and continually striving to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of their business operation

Ideal Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business or related fields.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience designing and developing business solutions (preferably in the academic environment).
  • Comparable success and work experience may be considered in lieu of degree requirement.
  • Demonstrated experience writing business requirements, test scripts, and training materials.
  • Knowledge in system integration technologies, protocols and standard (for example: APIs, JSON, XML)
  • Self-motivated with the ability to remain productive in a high performing team environment.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with both technical and non-technical audiences at various levels within the organization.
  • Knowledge or experience in business process improvement methodologies.
  • Knowledge of business modeling and requirements definition principles.
  • Ability to define business requirements and implement business process redesign.
  • Ability to accept and instigate change.
  • Ability to accept project priorities and prioritize personal work tasks and work independently.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a team and project environment.

Ancillary Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree

  • Experience working in a matrixed or geographically dispersed work environment

Other important information about this position:

  • This position is based in the Ex Libris office location in Wolverhampton.
  • Occasional travel may be required.
  • This position requires weekday (Monday - Friday) attendance with some scheduling flexibility available around core working hours.
