Job Description

Our Senior Technical Program Managers partner with product managers to define product requirements and lead cross-functional software development teams from design through delivery. You will be responsible for the development and delivery of upgrade projects for both RefWorks and Pivot. As a Program Manager, you will lead scrum meetings and act as both technical and functional SME for the products. You will engage in requirements gathering and work closely with the Product Management teams to create a 5-year plan for these market leading products. 

Additional responsibilities include….

•Regularly communicate with stakeholders and management on status, risks and change control.
•Serve as Tier 2 level of support – communicating regularly with the client support & customer implementation teams on specific product implementation or feature issues.
•Capture functional requirements and authors associated documents; including software specifications, use cases, business requirements and related artifacts.
•Create and manage project schedules, milestones and risks, and communicate them across the organization.
•Work directly with support staff to help investigate the viability of requirements and enhancements suggested by end users, to ensure that projects and features satisfy business requirements.
•Provide matrixed team leadership and acts as a driving force in cross-functional process improvement.
•Provide project/product based leadership including directing the activities of other Program Managers or project/product contributors.
•Provide mentoring for team members and less experienced Program Managers.

Qualified candidates must have...

•Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, Plus 7 years of professional experience in software functional analysis, QA, product support, development, project or program management or equivalent combination of education and experience.
•4 years of demonstrated success as a Program Manager.
•Full SDLC experience, particularly in a hosted application environment.
•Experience with HTML, XML, APIs and understanding of relational databases.
•Experience capturing functional requirements and authoring associated documents; including software specifications, use cases, business requirements, project schedules and related artifacts.
•Experience driving and resolving third party relationships, communications, development, contracts and support issues.
•Experience working in a team environment with Product Management, development, QA and IT on projects.
•Experience in developing and managing project schedules, milestones and risks, and communicating them across the organization.

Superstar candidates will ALSO have...

•Experience in Web-based applications which serve an international audience.
•Professional experience coordinating different types of software life cycle methodologies.
•Knowledge of the library industry, particularly electronic resources and knowledge base databases.

Other important information about this position:
•This position is based in the Seattle, WA ProQuest office location and may be appropriate for occasional remote work, subject to approval.
•Occasional travel is required, 10-15%
