What will I be doing?

As a Training Developer and Consultant, you will create effective and engaging eLearning content on Ex Libris products. You will work closely with product and implementation teams to develop and deliver high quality materials (eLearning content, quizzes, webinars) that support and enhance the customer product learning experience from pre-implementation to post-go-live. 


In this position, you will also…

• Develop online instructional curriculum by working closely with subject experts and key stakeholders to define core learning objectives for specific target audiences.

• Design effective and engaging eLearning content that enhances comprehension and knowledge retention by utilizing instructional design best practices.

• Interact and engage with subject matter experts and local managers to identify knowledge gaps and develop appropriate content for product education resources.

• Prepare, facilitate and deliver library consulting and training services for customers in the use of Ex Libris products, either at customer sites or online using real-time collaborative software (e.g. WebEx).

• Communicate timely, post-training responses to customer concerns and questions and escalate issues to technical support as required.

• Deliver training or training-related presentations at customer conferences and other events.

• Mentor other trainers and provide onboarding support to new trainers joining the team.

• Provide feedback and written content as needed to Documentation Team.


Qualified Candidates must have…

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in related field, such as Library Sciences, plus at least 3 years of related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Experience in instructional design and education, specifically with adult learners working with technical skills development.

• Demonstrated ability to handle ambiguity and adapt to a rapidly changing organization.

• Fluent in American English with excellent written and oral communication skills with confidence and passion in expertly delivering and facilitating customer workshops

• Demonstrated commitment to customer service with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to professionally interact with a diverse blend of personalities to reach resolution and maintain strong relationships.

• Highly proficient in training facilitation and presentation delivery with expert level oral and written communication skills.

• Strong sense of learning agility with a willingness to proactively explore new tools, approaches and concepts that enhance the customer and team experience.

• Demonstrated organizational skills, with ability to mobilize resources across a matrixed organization to reach shared goals.


It would be awesome if you also had…

• Experience creating eLearning content using authoring tools such as Camtasia and Storyline.

• Familiarity and proficiency with integrated library systems and library technical services workflows.

• Experience working in a geographically-matrixed environment, with a strong commitment to working effectively on independent and collaborative projects and initiatives.

• Experience using and/or administering Learning Management Systems.

• Fluency in languages other than English.


Other important information about this position:

• This position is based out of a US Ex Libris field office in Des Plaines, IL or Seattle, WA. 

• Occasional travel is required.

• This position requires weekday (Monday – Friday) attendance with some scheduling flexibility available around core working hours.
